"what a waste if we don't strive to love in our lives."
Wong Fu Productions has always been one of my inspirational people, ever since i've watched one of their shorts - Strangers.
i can't really explain why but WFP's videos always inspire me to write.
they're always so full of creative ideas; and being extremely observant has guide them even further in expressing themselves.
i find it easy to relate myself to their storyline. relationships and humdrum of life, their short films are often about the simplest things that we have overlooked, being portrayed in the simplest form. besides watching the final project, i also enjoy reading director's commentary. from there, i get to know the more personal side of short - inspiration source, how it was filmed, and mostly, the thoughts and feelings of the director(s) for the short.
unlike any other filmakers, WFP's videos are not rough and messy; they're so detailed and fine. right music and the right words and the right cast. and of course, the right producers/directors.
"Now, still speaking to these younger viewers, many of you may also feel like you have lost the “one true love” of your life. To those I hope this short shows that your future holds others who you have yet to fall in love with (and maybe once again lose). There is time ahead of you, and in this time you will find love in other ways, or perhaps love will return to you, I can’t tell you for certain, but I can tell you not to completely lose yourself in the present, and try to believe that one day you will look back on the ones you’ve “lost” the same way the man in the film does, with understanding and joy."
seeing them working so hard in delivering hopes and love to their viewers has moved me as well. i love being embraced in the aura of positiveness that they portrayed in their shorts, giving me a glimpse of never-ending possibilities that the world holds for me.
after all, we all often need something to look forward to.
